What made you want to start training with a coach at Level Up?

I’ve been working with Level Up for about 7 years, with a basic initial goal of improving my strength and balance. As my coach, Mike met me where I was at then, worked to understand my goals then and as they have changed, and continually provides programming and guidance to challenge me and help me progress.

Do you feel our service is worth the cost?

My time working with Level Up has certainly added value to my life and health and would benefit anyone interested in improving their strength and health and willing to put in the work.

Mary Kohlhepp

"It is worth every penny. I have had training with Zach, Mike, and currently with Ashley. Having a trainer makes me accountable. Otherwise, I am positive I would have problems following through with a workout on my own. Ashley’s program is geared to my age as well as my needs and capabilities. She is very patient. She is also willing to train me to use the app for the 3 months I am in Florida."

What made you want to start training with a coach at Level Up?

I work a desk job and figured that at 40, it was past time to start taking my health and fitness more seriously. I also wanted a way to stay in better shape for mountain biking. I had never set foot in a gym before, so I had no idea how to get started. After speaking with Mike, I decided to do a few training sessions to get familiar with the lifts and make sure I was using the proper form.

Were there certain goals you wanted to accomplish?

My goals are general - to stay fit and healthy, get stronger, and most importantly, to consistently make fitness a regular part of my life.

Do you feel our service is worth the cost?

Working with a trainer is absolutely worth the cost for me. Getting advice and feedback on my form helps to prevent injuries and ensures that I am maximizing my time and effort. Following a program set by a trainer takes the guesswork out. It would have been easy to get frustrated and lose motivation if I had started without a plan and expert help.

Would you recommend training at Level Up to others?

I would recommend training at Level Up to anyone who wants to get started with a weightlifting program. Learning from a trainer built a solid base of skills and knowledge which makes me feel confident and successful in the gym.

Jackie Halverson

"I wanted to change my fitness routine and incorporate strength, which is something I avoided most of my life. Having completed nearly 30 years of military service, fitness was not new to me but rather something I did daily. But like many, I was a cardio queen and only did the strength exercises necessary to pass my annual physical training test. However, I was starting to notice that my body was changing as I “aged” and cardio wasn’t giving me the same results. My oldest daughter is a trainer in Stevens Point and she encouraged me to try a personal trainer. I chose Level Up because I wanted to support a local business and because I admire their commitment to youth, they are making a difference in people’s lives not just making a profit."

Were there certain goals you wanted to accomplish?

I wanted my butt back - lol! But I also just wanted to tighten up in some places, improve my mobility and feel better overall. I also needed a new dress for an upcoming wedding and wanted to feel good shopping and celebration - I went down 2 dress sizes in 6 months.

What do you like about training at Level Up?

By far the people! Not only does my trainer Ashley keep me accountable, but she is also encouraging, adaptive and supportive. I also feel welcomed by the staff and other members and never feel like I’m in anyone’s way or just another customer. I also love watching the youth train.

What benefits did/do you see in working with us?

In addition to being stronger, fitter and generally just healthier, I appreciate the 24-hour access, feeling welcomed and encouraged by the staff and that I’m treated like a member of a pretty cool team. I would add that right after I started training, I fractured my elbow and about 6 months later had foot surgery - I could have used either event as an excuse to quit but instead Ashely adapted my workouts to my capabilities and kept me moving:)

Do you feel our service is worth the cost?

I believe you get what you pay. I appreciate the individual time and attention I get from my trainer and recognize the time and talent she gives me not only when working out with me but also ensuring my workout meets my needs and progresses so that I continue to see improvements.

Would you recommend training at Level Up to others?

Yes – not only will you see results, but you will also learn new things, make new friends and look forward to going to a place where you will feel welcome and part of the team regardless of what shape you are in today.
